D'ALROY, MARCELINE
The D'Alroy Diary
London, Hutchinson. 1933, First Edition. Hard Cover, 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Ill.: Houghton, Lawrence. SIGNED BY AUTHOR on front endpaper "With best wishes". Black titles on brown cloth boards which have a few small marks and dulling to spine. Internally there is some light foxing to endpapers and sporadically to some others, a previous owner's name and separation of front endpaper and front pastedown. Otherwise a clean and tight copy. The author was a columnist on The Daily Sketch newspaper and this book is "a commentary on life at the time, intended to tease as well as to please, half playful, half serious", in fact the personal philosophy of a woman who loves living. Not dated but is in fact 1933. Delightfully illustrated by Lawrence Houghton. A VERY SCARCE SIGNED COPY C3B. Good/No Jacket. Signed by Author.
